Story / Skills

Hi, there! I believe you're here to learn about me so... my name is Raymond Musumba, but I'm widely known as Ray (or Shigoli) in my circles. I have a deep-rooted passion for fitness, creativity and technology, which makes me come across as multi-talented – but I'll let you be the judge.

I graduated from the United States International University – Africa (USIU–Africa) with a BSc. in Information Systems & Technology, with a specific focus on Forensic IT & Cybercrime. I also a engage in fitness training under Rays Fitness Kenya, a growing health and wellness support business.

I exercise my creative skills through freelance graphic design and web development, which I currently maintain as a side hustle. You can peek in my Portfolio to see some of the cool things I've created.

On Occasion...

I write articles for Rays Fitness Kenya on various health and wellness topics, as well as on my Personal Blog about my country, life experiences, entrepreneurship, wellness, technology, and other topics. I find that I express myself a lot more through writing, which helps me keep my writing and general communication skills rather spiffy. Every once in a while, I also do some image consulting and help people out with their personal brand.

I trained as a 100m & 200m sprinter with the USIU–Africa athletics team, but withdrew my efforts for various reasons (but I still sprint occasionally) – I tried out rugby too, so you could say I am quite athletic. I later tried modeling, but also exited the industry for personal reasons; however, I did contest for the Mr. USIU–A title in 2013 – a student ambassador position that requires great social skills, and managed to win it.
